Dr. Dharampal Anand (MD, FRACP, FACP, FRCP London, AFRACMA) is a Senior Consultant Physician in Internal Medicine at Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane, one of Queensland’s leading tertiary referral centers.

Originally from Madhepura, Bihar, Dr. Anand completed his medical education at Patna Medical College before undergoing specialist postgraduate training in Raipur and at the Sanjay Gandhi Postgraduate Institute of Medical Sciences (SGPGI) in Lucknow, India. Prior to relocating to Australia in 2005, he served as a Specialist Physician in Mauritius.

Dr. Anand holds extensive qualifications across international medical jurisdictions, including Fellowships with the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP), the American College of Physicians (FACP), and the Royal College of Physicians, London (FRCP). Complementing his clinical expertise, he holds an Associate Fellowship with the Royal Australasian College of Medical Administrators (AFRACMA) and previously served as Director of Internal Medicine at Townsville University Hospital.

His primary clinical and research interests center on chronic disease management and eating disorders.

Dr. Anand resides in South Brisbane with his wife, Dr. Pummi Roy, a General Practitioner locally and his daughter has followed in his footsteps as a doctor at Princess Alexandra Hospital. His elder son works as a civil engineer within the Queensland Government.

Outside of medicine, he enjoys hiking, cooking, watching documentaries, and spending time with his beagle, Murphy.
